Mainefossils
Fossil forum, I recently found an interesting fossil. I was thinking coral or bryozoan, but was unable to identify it correctly. It is from the Leighton Fm Maine (again), which is Silurian. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures of it: 1 The more I learn, the more I find that I know nothing. Mainefossils
That's very interesting. I will enjoy looking into that. The more I learn, the more I find that I know nothing. Regards, Asher
Fossildude19
Bryozoan or arthropod, would be my guess. Not aware of cartilage showing up in the Silurian, but I could be wrong. I would go ahead and try to split that further. 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon
Not particularly knowledgable as to bryozoan material, but this does remind me of what I've seen of that... Tidgy's Dad
Yes, I am fairly certain that this is a bryozoan. Ptilodictya is a possibility. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
