Just to add my thoughts as to the term "Lagerstatte": I believe these typically comprise platy sediments, rather than calcareous nodules (though they may include them)... This is at least the case for those that I'm aware of, even if this ids not too big a sample ;)

 

And, wow, @Malcolmt! Just wow! I've always wanted to add an eurypterid-specimen to my collection, but found it difficult to find one of decent quality. And here you are just showing us a house full of the things! :drool:

Pity the layer these come from is no longer accessible, as that will certainly make quality specimens even harder to come by...
