Real mammoth skin?

Recommended Posts

  • heZZ changed the title to Real mammoth skin?

Short of performing a DNA test, there is no way of verifying this.

Verification by photos is not possible.

I've never seen anything like this for sale before but like Tim said a DNA test is really the only way and I'd also be concerned about owning skin of an animal if its not mammoth

A DNA test may no longer work and where to get the reference material? A C14 radiocarbon dating would be better. The cost is between 200 and 500€ (at least in Germany).
