Hello,

This bright white fossil found on the BC coast seems to check the boxes for ‘real’ egg. Incl. Evidence of chipped shell.

Can anyone verify?

Thanks very much.

This looks like the others said - a metamorphic rock with mineral veins.

Fossil eggs are rare, but egg shaped rocks are innumerable. ;)

There are a million billion trillion X10 round rocks on earth.  Only .00000000000000001 % are eggs.  Who makes this stuff up?  :)

Thank you for the welcome. We thought for sure the little pieces of shell missing (as in top photo) meant ‘for sure’ it was an egg.
We have about a dozen or so ‘rocks’?including a number of coprolite and bone.

To request help with ID is it best to post each item separately in its own topic?

thanks again everyone.

That would be best. Then each item would get the separate attention it deserves.
