Small fossil from the Lower Devonian New Scotland Formation

Nautiloid

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I’ve been going through some of my fossils from the New Scotland Formation and I stumbled upon this intriguing little piece. It’s about a centimeter wide and seems to be separated in the middle, almost like two connected plates of some kind. I’ve got a decent collection from this formation and I’ve never seen anything like this. Hopefully somebody on here can help me out.

Thanks for looking!!

Unfortunately, it is too fragmentary for me to make out. :(
