historianmichael
I found this weird thing this past weekend while out fossil collecting in Big Brook. As many know, Big Brook has a lot of pseudofossils - rocks and other geologic material that look like fossils - so there is a very real possibility this is just nothing. However, it caught my eye and curiosity enough to think to bring it home to look at it closer under my digital microscope. It has an interesting pattern of tiny bumps. Any thoughts on what this could be are greatly appreciated. Thanks! FossilDAWG
My suspicion would be that it is a cast of the cavity in a shell made by a boring sponge, Cliona. Don
