Vertebra from Big Brook

ound this vertebra yesterday at Big Brook. Concave on both sides, but one side is smaller than the other, giving it the shape of a truncated cone.

looks like a shark vert to me.

I initially thought that, too, but it doesn’t have the two opening on the top and bottom for the hemal and neural arches. Maybe it’s just so worn down that they’re gone?

That's an awesome vert, really nice size for the area. It would be nice to see more pictures, a little less zoomed in and straight-on shots.

I see the file now. It is definitely a Chondrichthyan vert. It could be a shark or sawfish vert, but I think the wear on the sides makes it unidentifiable.
