Windmill Site, New Mexico Ojito Springs Quad

Friday was a second trip out the the Windmill sites with a quad and a geologic map overlay. I scouted out a site further north that was across the arroyo. I am a geologist by training but not so much about fossils or minerals, mostly tracking layers and mapping.

The things on the right I know broadly what they are. But the pointy things on the left I have no idea.

Looking east from the sites. We had snow flurries washing over us and they wind kicked up something fierce around 3pm.

Started adding to the geologic overlay since there was a tongue of the Mancos shale that is visible and wraps a bit to the northeast. The black dot with the blue circle is the Windmill. Brown lines are the roads. 

 

 

 

Sorry the two pages aren't line up exactly, fighting off cats while trying to get a good picutre.

Possibly some sort of Pinna Clam?

Another vote for Pinna clam. Maybe Pinna petrina- I have a partial one of those from nearby. Over all an excellent haul!!!!
