Steak_Knife86
Does anyone recognize what this could be? I Saw what looked like bones in a dry wash. I brushed away some dirt and It looks like there’s teeth, vertebrae, wing bones, armor like scales, and a pretty obvious looking dragon skull. Lone Hunter
I'll start with there's no real dragons like you're thinking. Looks like a facinating geological formation to me. 1

Fossildude19
Not seeing any fossils here. I see limestone, and chert or quartz. All geologic in origin. Steak_Knife86
So you’re saying there are real dragons, but not like I’m thinking? Or maybe there are real dragons, but not how you’re thinking? Perhaps it’s both. The Dragons are the fascinating geological structures.
JohnJ
We're saying if you really think you are finding dragons or think it's possible to find dragons, then TFF might not be the best place to have your views confirmed. As a science-based forum, we don't entertain paleo fantasy. There are lots of other sites online that cover that base. 1 3 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
DPS Ammonite
No fossils to be had in the metamorphic rocks near Phoenix. You are looking at a caliche limestone crust on top of some outcrops and clasts of metamorphic rocks such as schist and phyllite. Did you find these in the Phoenix Mountains? Edited March 30, 2021 by DPS Ammonite My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. See my Arizona Paleontology Guide link The best single resource for Arizona paleontology anywhere. Fossildude19
No bilateral symmetry, no skull/skeleton morphology. No bone texture. I see rocks and not any fossil. And certainly not a dragon. Mythical Dragons do not exist, nor did they exist. You won't be finding any fossils of "Dragons". I think you need to join a local paleontology/rockhounding club, to learn what can be found in your area, and what fossils actually look like. GeschWhat
On the serious side, just out of curiosity, could this be a an exposure of the caliche layer? I was told by a friend that lives down in Arizona that there is a really hard layer not too far under the surface soil/sand. Since this was in a wash I am curious to know if that is what that layer looks like.
