Nimravis
Since the weather was beautiful this morning after I did some rowing and grocery shopping, I decided to hit the Oglesby Road cut again. This cut exposes the Pennsylvanian LaSalle Limestone Member of the Bond Formation. This was another great day, I found another Petalodus tooth today, it is nice, but not as nice as the one I found last Sunday. I found a lot of huge brachiopods today after they popped out of the matrix. The exposure- Composita argentia Spiriferids- Neospirifer Edited April 4, 2021 by Nimravis 1

bthemoose
Great finds. I'm going to have to find an excuse to drive to Oglesby someday! Edited April 4, 2021 by bthemoose
Nimravis
Linoproductus cora Inarticulate brachiopod - I believe that this next piece is a large bivalve. Wilkingia terminalis I leave a lot of pieces around for other collectors to grab if they so desire. I also brought home a lot of pieces that will be added to the fossils that I bring to the ESCONI Braceville Shaft Mine trip. This is really a great place to collect, especially after the Winter freeze. @deutscheben @connorp Edited April 4, 2021 by Nimravis 2

connorp
I was just reading as you tagged me. Seems like I need to get back there before you scoop up all the Petalodus! Great finds as usual.

I see you have misspelled it that way in the Forum several times. Maybe an admin can correct the past misspellings. Bivalve is probably Wilkingia terminale. deutscheben
You barely gave me a chance to get out there! Haha, just kidding, it’s awesome you could get out again and find another excellent tooth. You also got a nice collection of very large brachiopods, and bivalves are relatively rare there so that’s a quality find too.
