Searcher78
I was going through my unknown fossil bits and thought this looked like the main cusp of a cow shark (Paleocene). My problem is....I can’t remember if I found this at Douglas Point or at flag pond (this is my only fossil that got mixed up)
Top Trilo
Looks quite similar to part of a cephalic spine of a hybodont, check this thread I may be way off but it looks really similar Edited April 10, 2021 by Top Trilo 1 “If fossils are not "boggling" your mind then you are simply not doing it right” -Ken (digit) "No fossil is garbage, it´s just not completely preserved” -Franz (FranzBernhard) "With hammer in hand, the open horizon of time, and dear friends by my side, what can we not accomplish together?" -Kane (Kane) "We are in a way conquering time, reuniting members of a long lost family" -Quincy (Opabinia Blues) "I loved reading the trip reports, I loved the sharing, I loved the educational aspect, I loved the humor. val horn
The hollowness is what seems oddest. Whenever I see that kind of hollowness I think crab claw, though I have trouble with the shape. I think a cephalic clasper is more bone like and flats at the tip.
Al Dente
It may be part of a dermal thorn from a male skate. There is a similar one in this post-http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/12606-echinorhinus-dermal-denticle/ Here is a modern one from a Clearnose Skate. I kept it because I liked the shape.
