Planko Posted April 11, 2021 Share Posted April 11, 2021 Hey Everyone, Found this yesterday out at the NSR. Although there were a quite a few modern bones around. I think it was a calf that died due to the skull I found. This stood out as being close in color to the other bison bone I found. Mass is much more than the modern bones found. Also had some of the black soil in it. I did the burn test and no smell. Any help is greatly appreciated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ClearLake Posted April 11, 2021 Share Posted April 11, 2021 Its the proximal (upper) end of a fused radius and ulna. Looking at the diagram in Mammalian Osteology it sure looks like it could be bison. Unfortunately the distal end is broken off which could have helped to confirm the ID, but I think you are safe with bison.
