KarenD
Hello, I am new to the forum. I found this on the beach in Delaware USA, last week and found a similar one in the past few years. I don’t have knowledge of fossils, but this looked like one to my inexperienced eye. Any help identifying what it is, is appreciated!

Fossildude19
Looks more like the remains of a rugose coral. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Paleome
I agree with Tim. Way too thick to be a limpet. Really looks like rugose coral.
Plax
Plenty of paleozoic chert fossils down that way. Northern Delaware Bay beaches have a lot more.
KarenD
Thanks. Now that I know, I am going to dig through my jar of “interesting rocks” to see I have any more fossils and look a lot more at rocks than shells when walking on the beach! Paleome
Yeah, just look at everything. You may be surprised by what you can find. Happy hunting! Debra
