Mtwombly
This was found in northern Florida. I thought it was a claw core, as it is definitely not a tooth. However, now I am thinking antler tine. I would love some opinions on if that's correct! Edited April 16, 2021 by Mtwombly
Rockwood
I'm not seeing the texture of bone of either type here. I'm not sure how else to explain the shape though.
Harry Pristis
Yes, it's an antler tine. 2 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

Mtwombly
It does seem to be more mineralized than other antler tines, however not nearly as much as the fossil antlers I have found which are rock solid and much denser. It’s quite odd!
