NJ Ramenessin Miocene Mammal - Big Beaver?

Found in Ram. Looks mammalian, possibly beaver? Throwing me off because it doesn't seem modern. Any thoughts?

Beaver Molar. I’d say Pleistocene or Holocene. Cool find!

There are no Miocene fossils in Ramanessin Brook, only Upper Cretaceous and very rare Pleistocene. That tooth could be either Pleistocene or Modern.

I think it's modern. Castoroides is a lot larger

Unless there is a morphological distinction other than size it may be hard to pin this one down tight. Modern could mean early European trappers, and I'm sure the big uns died young sometimes.
