Limestone Fossils?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am new here but have a couple photos of recent finds and would appreciate any thoughts on what they are.  These are about two inches long and were found on a decorative  limestone slab near a neighbor's pool in Woodside, CA.  The limestone was sourced locally.

Thanks!PXL_20210329_191847618.thumb.jpg.7d442976e26574c131b7849a4cc87ab0.jpg

My thought is that these are poorly formed concretions.  It looks like iron oxide has been deposited around some (no longer visible) nucleus.

Thanks, so would these concretions represent a previously present animal of some kind converted to a trace fossil?
