Is this coral?

I found this while I was out running the other day - it was near the top of a mountain in Southwest Virginia.  Is this a coral fossil?  Could the thing on the end be a brachipod fossil?  Sorry my measuring tape only had inches, but I figured it was better than nothing!

Welcome to the Forum. :)  (pretty dog!)

Crinoidal limestone or sandstone.

This is made up of the parts of many crinoid fossils - stem pieces/columnals/ossicles.

And yes, to the brachiopods.  :)

or sandstone.

The crinoid component is actually a bit slim to call it limestone I think.

Thanks so much for the info!  My first (and probably last) fossil find - not even sure why my brain thought "fossil!" as I ran by, but I'm glad I stopped for a closer look!
