Digdug
Happy Friday! Found this yesterday near the peace river and hoping someone smarter than me can help identify. I've looked online and through all my books but still no luck. Thanks and happy hunting!
Shellseeker
Your find seems to be the exact shape of the broken tip of a dugong rib, which happens to be the the most prevalent fossil bone found in the Peace River. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
digit
Agreed. Interesting preservation though as we usually see shiny jet black versions pulled out of the Peace River. I'm guessing this is a land find? Cheers. -Ken P.S. Welcome to the forum--you've found the mother-lode of fossil information.

In other photos, parallel lines are created by cracking in the ribs, usually induced by temperature changes. This type of cracking is unusual but not rare.. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
