fossilisa
I found the fossil below last week in Big Brook in Colts Neck, NJ. I know it is not terribly impressive, but I am curious to know exactly what it is. The imprint is VERY tiny. I assume it is of a shell, but could perhaps also be a fan shaped small plant? Can anyone tell me exactly what kind, or more about it?
Thomas.Dodson
This looks like a brachiopod to me. While Big Brook is Cretaceous this is likely much older (Paleozoic) and might be residual material or material brought in through landscaping, gravel, etc.
fifbrindacier
I agree it looks like a brachiopod. 1 "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
