JamieLynn
Hi all! Found this odd little vertebra in my Post Oak Creek micro matrix. I assume it's fish, but the small end and the big end have me a bit confused. I am not too knowledgeable in vertebrate material so any help will be appreciated. Thanks! It is 8mm x 5mm www.fossil-quest.com
ThePhysicist
It looks fishy to me. It's possible the smaller "end" is just broken. hemipristis
Concur with al dente on both counts. It doesn’t look like any that I’m familiar with 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' George Santayana
Norki
Weird, but definitely a fish. Maybe the difference between the posterior and anterior ends is due to this being the first cervical vertebra? Edited April 28, 2021 by Norki

GeschWhat
Fish vertebra with beginning signs of hyperostosis? Out of my realm - just an impression. Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
