Cheers Tim the silly thing about it is it has been in the garden for many years and I thought it was lost. It is now on my shelf where it should be.

I bet that would look great if cut and polished.   Any ID I might suggest would be just a guess.  :headscratch:

Very nice, Bobby.

I would go for Siphonodendron, but wait for Tarquin, he's much better at these corals than I am.

Hi Bobby! It's Actinocyathus floriformis - the large, bubbly dissepiments combined with cerioid structure are distinctive. I find partially silicified ones exactly like that in the Great Limestone in the Durham Pennines. Definitely one of the most beautiful Carboniferous species. :)

Like these bits:

(Solitary Dibunophyllum bipartitum bottom left.)

Thanks Tarquin much appreciated.  It is quite a nice piece and I am pleased to have found it again. That’s some beautiful specimens you have too. On mine part of the structure is visible is it possible to enhance this?

Thanks, Bobby. Yours looks fine the way it is and it would be very difficult to polish the whole pebble - you'd have to grind away the nice silicified bits first. It could be cut but then you'd cut into the longitudinal sections.
