What kind of rock is this?

After this weekends hard rain, this rock was sticking out. It looked much smaller at first. Oddly enough a rock I found a couple of months fits with it. 
 

The fractures on the front of it is why I’m asking what it is. It kind of looks like card board between the fractures.
