Fossil Turtle Scute or something else?

Hey Everyone,

Had a decent day out at NSR. Not as good as one person who found 18 verts, 2 arrow heads, and more.

Found NSR, Delta County, TX

I am thinking this might be a turtle scute but i am still earning. Any thoughts appreciated.

I agree with turtle. I think it may be from the plastron given its lack of curvature.

Yours has the radiating groove pattern that I associate with turtle, has a porous interior, has flat surfaces on both sides, with roughly uniform thickness.

Thank you so much. Very happy. Guess there is no way to figure out a species?

Even if I knew which species could be found, I don't think there's enough with this piece to say which. Protostegid remains have been found in Texas, so it could be from a big turtle.
