Hi Everyone,

I had a great outing at Flag Ponds Park yesterday. The day started with my first intact Meg about 20 minutes into my search. Then later on I found an herbivore tooth. Please help me ID the species. It measures approximately 2.6 cm x 2.7 cm. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Harry, that is very interesting. I looked at images of bison teeth before I posted, but I thought it had to have a stylid to be bison & I don't see one on this tooth, but I guess the internet don't tell the whole story. Thanks for the ID.

It does - did - have an isolated stylid.  The stylid can be lost in the rough and tumble of preservation, particularly with a cow tooth.  Look carefully with a lens for a stub, though it could be polished away, I guess.  I have no doubt it's bovid.

Thanks! I will do that. Much appreciated.
