Found in woods in Northern Michigan - What is it?

Hello, I found this as well as several more in different sizes in the woods near my home in Northern Michigan.  Can anyone give me a clue what it might be?  It is hard to tell from the photos, but many parts of this appear to be crystalized.  Mostly inside the "holes".   I have looked ALL over the area on hikes and have never come across anything even similar to this.  They seem to be in just the one area.

By "Northern Michigan" I'm assuming you mean the northern lower peninsula.  In that case what you have is a classic example of "Petoskey Stone", or Hexagonaria.

Nice piece, it looks huge!

Be sure to make a record of the exact location you found it - good practice for all fossil collectors. (Don't tell us, just make a record to go with the specimen :) )

I agree with the others, it's a coral.

I think I also have some fossilized corals but not as big and preserved as your coral, this is a really cool one.
