Nadav
I've found a fossil in flint during flint knapping. I've exposed as much of it as I could. It's about one centimetre long and one centimetre wide. Cant know how old the flint is. It's from the Negev desert Israel. It was found in a wadi with debris from multiple periods (Triassic-Eocene) cant be sure. I think it might be a crinoid stem but I'm far from being sure. Any help would be appreciated! jacob86795
what i can see is a what looks like a part of a horn coral, or fragment from a nautilus shell, wait for more comments though. someone may be able to identify it fully.

Fossildude19
I'm not seeing crinoid stem here. Cropped, enlarged, contrasted : Unfortunately, I don't think there is enough here to make a competent ID from it. Fossildude19
Still, no crenulations visible. And at 1cm x 1cm, the "layers" are mere millimeters wide. Very tiny crinoid stem. Could be a feeding arm, I suppose, but any positive ID is beyond this specimen, I would think. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
