I lucked into this beauty while excavating a limestone pit in the Peace river bed looking for Miocene invertebrates. Is there any chance of identifying it's species from the location found and the size? @Harry Pristis ?

Persistence generates luck!

Beauty is right. This is one of those top-shelf fossils that Florida hunters dream about finding. It looks complete enough and we have size information so hopefully we'll get an answer on this soon.

Cheers.

It was custom made by a friend of mine. I couldn't find anything like it so I had to work with him to design it .

That’s one of the nicest Sloth Claws I’ve seen!!! I’d go with Megalonyx sp.
