Plant fossil, coconut or palm?

This is said to be a coconut tree fossil.  It’s from Liaoning, China.  I don’t think Liaoning has coconut tree, rather does it look like a palm tree?

Coconut trees are a type of palm tree so it could be both :)

The polka a dotted end looks like a piece of modern palm wood I found. Looks very similar to your piece. See photo of interior view.
