Embedded fish jaw? From the North Sulphur River, Texas

Hi all

 

My kids and I found this piece at the NSR and saw that there were multiple bone fragments in it.  Do you all think that there is a fish jaw in the lower right portion of the specimen?  If so, can anyone tell from which type of fish it is?

I don't think this looks like bone or tooth. I'm not quite sure what it does look like though.

Yes that definitely is a fish jaw! Very nice catch! I can't offer an ID though. Hopefully someone with some Cretaceous expertise can suggest something

Cool find! I'm thinking fish as well. It's most likely Enchodus sp., the "saber-toothed herring."

I'd second Enchodus. The half worn teeth make it a bit more difficult but I'd expect Enchodus.

I would assume it is part of the fish's jaw or skull.
