ID vertebral column for me please? Dinosaur?

I was recently was given what I was told is a dinosaur bone but I don't know what it is. It measures about 30 inches long and weighs about 1.3 pounds. Can anyone help to identify this for me?

Not sure if it is real or not, probably not, but looks like a row of shark vertebrae

Moved to FOSSIL ID.  ;) 

 

This looks like a vertebral column of a fish or shark. 

Looks like it might be modern. 

Have you tried doing a burn/flame test on it?

Hold it over an open flame (match, lighter) and see if it burns. 
If it gives off an odor of burnt hair it is modern. 
If it doesn't burn, it is a fossil. 

If it melts, it's a cast.
