Sagebrush Steve
It sort of reminds me of a poorly preserved fossil shrimp but I know nothing of the geology of Louisiana.

Ludwigia
That "shrimp" is just a chip off the old block, if you understand what I mean. However, the finely dotted striations may point to something fossiliferous within the rock. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. FossilDAWG
The rows of dots are possibly cross sections through "lacy" bryozoans. Otherwise, I don't see fossils. Don
Fossildude19
This looks like a weathered chert nodule with conchoidal fracturing, Not seeing any fossils here, other than the possible bryozoan. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Muuleey
Woould like to resubmit some pic with lighting to angled areas. Hopefully this is ok.
Kane
Always good to see more images. I think this may confirm the consensus, though. Your initial image gave me pause. Louisiana is known for so many things, but fossils are a bit sparse, from my understanding. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
