Need Help With Removing Hot Glue

Good afternoon everyone. I recently acquired a Triceratops Scapula that had been glued back together with hot glue. Any suggestions on what would be the best method of removing that so I can do it the proper way? Thank you in advance.

It's easy to separate joins with a hair dryer.  The challenge is removing the remnants on the edges.  I might try icing the hot melt glue remnants, then peeling them by hand.
