Dinobot
Hi there, I'm looking at possibly buying another saurpod egg. The seller identified it as a hypselosaurus priscus egg, Provence basin france. From the last post I did not on eggs I understand eggs are specifically attributed to hypselosaurus anymore? I'm looking for a museum quality piece as my other egg examples are just decent. Please give me your thoughts and let me know if you require more photos Thank you!
Tidgy's Dad
Some of the fragments in one area seem to fit together, but most of it looks like random pieces of broken eggshell have been picked up off the ground and glued to a roughly egg-shaped rock. Let's see what others think.............. 2 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Troodon
Almost all the eggs you see from France have broken eggshells. This image is typical of what you find. Perfect eggs are from China. Image and comments by member @HamptonsDoc 2
Troodon
Here is an egg from my collection. The key is being comfortable with your source that its not composited in any way.. It can be difficult to tell with photos but you need to make sure the broken edges line up and fit together. It's not uncommon for peices to overlap. The color of the matrix around the shell material needs to be consistent and no evidence of tampering. Sometimes partial eggs and composited with eggshells to make it look more complete.
Dinobot
Ok thank you! I noticed that the color in my images is far lighter than your troodon, is that common to have different color variation in the south of France for the eggs?
Troodon
I've seen red and gray eggs from France. Here is another image from HamptonDoc's post.

Dinobot
The seller has also offered me a few other pieces, this is my first dealing with him. I'll post the photos here but please let me know if I should start a new thread. Partial saltasaurus egg and spinosaurus jaw section

HamptonsDoc
Scrolled through this quickly first and thought some of those French eggs looked familiar! I really like the French eggs you posted. Very typical for eggs from that region.
