Is this a real Spinosauraus tooth?

Hi all,

I bought this from a car boot sale, from a seller who sells fossil's.

The seller said it is a spinosauraus tooth.

I had a look online and saw that spinosauraus teeth are typically rounder, whilst this is very pointed and quite thin.

The seller did sell larger round ones, as well as these smaller more narrow teeth.

I chose this one as it was the least broken.

I can't really identify what a fake tooth would look like.

Could someone tell me if they think this is a real tooth or not?

No. This is a sawfish (Onchopristis) rostral tooth/barb.

Likely from Morocco.

Still a cool fossil.

EDIT: PS - Welcome to the Forum. :)

Fossildude19 is correct. This is the tooth/rostral barb of an Onchopristis numidus. So not a spinosaur tooth. These fish where, however, one of Spinosaurus' favourite prey items.

It's actually not a sawfish but a sawskate though.

Ironically, Onchopristis teeth tend to go for more than Spinosaurus teeth in my experience at least.
