Hot afternoon on the Ramanessin 6-6-2021

Despite the heat I managed to get a solo trip down to the Ramanessin yesterday afternoon.  I was hoping after the rains this past week things might be a little stirred up.  On my last post I joked about the tiny super worn mosasaur tooth breaking the curse... and I am happy to report I was right.

Little bit of everything this trip (small squares are 1/4 inch):

Big mosasaur tooth, worn, but it made me very happy

Pretty nice little lobster/shrimp

Partial ratfish plate

Coral/sponge?

Crow shark tooth. My biggest of the day had a busted up tip, but this medium sized one was nice

Wow!

Quite the variety there, Randy!

Congrats on a successful outing.  I know the brooks are getting hit hard these days.

You did quite well, considering.   :)

Thanks for the report. :envy:

Very nice!! Your potential coral is indeed a Paleozoic coral. The lobster is a headless Hoploparia gabbi.

Nice Mosasaur tooth!! That’s the one thing I really wanted too find from NJ, but wasn’t able too. Now I’m in Cali, so hopefully I can get too NSR before it’s closed and try and find one

Super finds, thanks for sharing.  And a day in, by or what once was under the sea is just so nice.

Apparently fossil hunting has gone up in popularity since the pandemic. Hoping that dies down a little
