Criss cross lined fossil?

Found this on the beach in Lewes, DE. It's 3cm long, 0.5cm thick and 2cm at the wider end.

The lines are raised. Curious if it is some sort of plant fossil.

Thanks for any help in identifying!

It looks Geological to me. Like flowstone that expanded into cracks in the surrounding rock.

likely sandstone, where secondary quartz has crystallized into the fractures

Since you're in the area, make a point to hit Lewes Beach at low tide.  Revolutionary War-era coins  and other artifacts can be found there.  Ditto coin beach on the north side of the Indian River Inlet.

For a nifty free museum, hit the Shipwreck museum on Fenwick Island.  And whatever you do, do not miss Grotto Pizza or Nicola's "niccoboli!

Well, it's very cool looking. Guess we'll have to start a rock collection too.

I'll be sure to check out the other places you mentioned as well.

Thank you!
