Klajdi
Hi, I found these teeth washed up on the beach and i'm curious to know more about them. They are covered in what looks like tar. Hopefully someone can identify the kind of animal they belong to, but any kind of information would be great. :-) As far as i can tell, they're some mammal teeth... right? hemipristis
It does appear to be an asphalt or tar covering. The teeth appear recent Hard to ID without seeing the crowns and chewing surfaces. The tar can be removed with turpentine or similar. If you choose to do that, be safe: Clean them outside in a well-ventilated area Use gloves and glasses No heat source nearby 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' Fossildude19
Hard to say with the tar covering it, but it looks similar to a pig or boar molar. The tar would need to be removed to make a confident ID.
