ID - fossil from switzerland

I found this fossil in Switzerland when I was younger, and I’ve always wondered what it is. I found it in a random rock pile. If someone could please help that would be great!

A scleractinian solitary coral, I think.

I looked at them but it doesn’t really look like the fossil I’ve got.. but maybe it is?

It is definitely a coral. These creatures take on differing shapes, but all have basically the same internal structure.

Your fossil seems to be part of a broken pebble and abraded on the outside. So it is incomplete, in that way revealing some of the nice interior structure.

 

Solitary corals come in various shapes, from slender cones and tubes to flat, well, blobs or buttons or disks, like Cunnolites/Cyclolites. Here is a poor pic of such a "flat" solitary coral, diameter is about 3 cm, view is from above. The outer shape of your specimen seems to be somewhat in between the reference pic you provided and the specimen below.
