Fossil fish tail?

Hi all,

 

I found this today in Charleston, SC. Is this a fossilized fish tail? Any other info on it? Not sure how rare it is but it’s the first I’ve come across. It’s only about an inch long

Yup. This is a fish hypural bone.

Not rare.
