Real triceratops bones? Or not?

Josesaurus rex

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I would like to know if someone can help me identify if precisely these remains correspond to triceratops, or to some indeterminate ceratopsian at least.  They all say they are from the Lance Formation, with no county, state, or anything.  They are different types of bone, which I will detail below.

  1. Sect of the jaw
  2. Section of the upper jaw
  3. Mandibular sect
  4. Ungual, foot claw

I await your comments, and thank you very much in advance.

1 & 2 may be ceratopsian not sure they are jaw sections

3 can be a ceratopsian frill section, cannot say its Triceratops.

4 unknown not an ungual,  might be part of a upper ceratopsian  beak

  • I found this Informative 3

I think nr. 4 looks like a deformed phalanx or ungual. The ventral and proximal sides are quite distinct that fits with this.
