Coral? Or just a rock?

I found this piece outside Kansas City, it was nearby some sea fossils.   I’m not sure if this is anything.  
 

Any ideas would be helpful!

Actually I do see cross sliced bivalves/or brachiopods in third picture from last. And geodes like that can be from former fossils. This rock is clearly a dolomite or something similar ruining fossils.

Well I'll take the middle ground then.

I agree that there were most certainly carbonate remains involved, but recognizable fossils may be a bit strong.

That's why we have to be careful with words - fossils do exist in this rock but in an unidentified form.

I think I agree with you, I don’t really understand the geology involved, but there was a bunch of carbonized material that is now probably unrecognizable, which is a shame.  I found a collection of rocks with similar inclusions.
