Fused joint or healed fracture?

Not sure what to think of this one. I usually don’t find joints that fuse together like this. It almost looks like a bone break that has healed and fossilized.

i dont expect fracture callus to have a defined midline that this has, therefore I would be more inclined to fused joint.  however i can not visualize what joint it would be.  Cancer and infection remain other choices.
