These are some other items I have found looking for shark teeth near Venice Florida, in the surf. I'm not sure if the first four are similar or not. All conical, and show worn or broken off layers. One is slightly corkscrews, and one has a bump on one side. The second batch are all similar, with ridges around a cusp, and a smaller end. The last looks like a human incisor, though I would guess it is from a deer or something similar. I found a couple pieces of fossilized antler in the same area. The one on the left has most of the root and the small rounded cap of enamel. The one on the right looks to be a broken larger tooth with the distinctive cone-in-cone cross-section. The two upper teeth are more enigmatic and could benefit from closer (focused) photos. Try taking some outdoors in bright light which may help your camera to take sharp images. The one on the upper left looks more like a sawfish rostral "tooth" given its lack of visible enamel. The upper right reminds me of a worn dolphin (small whale) tooth. digit Posted July 26, 2021 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Still enigmatic (to me, anyway). The round cross-section eliminates rostral tooth. The odd growth on one side almost makes me think some sort of elongated caudal vertebra with the base of the processes that would come off the centrum. Never seen one that long and pointed through.
