BellamyBlake
Hi everyone, I have here an indeterminate theropod tooth from from the Tiouraren Fm of Niger. The locality given to me was Tiouraren Hill, Téneré Desert. I've used Troodon's thread to narrow down the possibilities: 1.23" long 0.49" wide Distal serration density is 2.33/mm (mid-carina) Mesial serration density is 2.33/mm (near the tip; no serrations visible mid-carina) It's a partial tooth so I cannot get accurate base/height ratios. I'd appreciate any help identifying this. Thank you, Bellamy

Troodon
How far does the mesial carina extend down the outer edge. Difficult to see with your photos?

I was hoping for my first Megalosaurid! 16 hours ago, Troodon said: How far does the mesial carina extend down the outer edge. Difficult to see with your photos? It's generally hard to see. I'm attaching more photographs. Let me know if these are clearer. Otherwise I'll get some under magnification of the mesial carina when I get home. To my eye it looks to be around 2/3 Edited August 7, 2021 by BellamyBlake
Troodon
Suggest you do that. Need to know how far down the carina comes and if its short is it natural worn.

Hi Frank, I'm attaching photos under magnification here. They're all of the mesial side as requested. Hopefully some of these are helpful. Troodon
Thanks, Images are better and does look like a meglosaurid. So most likely an Afro. not much else that size in that fauna.
