Everything I find is from right here in southern Iron County in SE Missouri off of Big Creek & Black River.

If someone would  be so kind as to put a name to these little guys so I can label them I'd greatly appreciate it. please & thank you

The 1st picture is the best looking shell I've ever found but it's only a few centimeters across. .

The 2nd picture is of one I just found a few days ago while I was at the creek (Big Creek) dimensions are 1"x1"

The last three pictures are kind of a funny story and not at the same time. So one of my hobbies is making arrowheads & while searching for good rocks to knock off some chunks I busted one in half & this was on the inside. It's dimensions are 2.5"x2.5"

So in posting this for some reason the first and second picture got flip-flopped. so the second picture is only a few centimeters across I took that picture with my microscope

The big snail is probably a Maclurites sp. The small one is an internal mold and likely doesn't have any identifying characteristics. There is a possibility it can be identified but it wouldn't be easy. If you can determine the formation of the strata using a geologic map you might be able to find a list of fauna previously described from the area.

This monograph has numerous gastropod figures from nearby Reynolds and Shannon counties.
