Hi all! Just wanted to share my little collection of trilobites and pals now that I have a small assortment. I hope you enjoy! I’m working up to actually getting out in the field soon, so hopefully a few finds of my own might join these fellers!

I’m having a tough time finding literature on speculative lifestyles/feeding niches for trilobites in general, and how body shape may have influenced these patterns. I am always grateful for literature recommendations!

This is great!!! Thanks!!  I'm hoping to compile a little literature review on each species I encounter- piecing together what their habits and hobbies were really helps bring them to life!

Great start for your collection! That Dalmanites especially is a great addition! Out east is definitely the place to he for trilo hunting, lots of bugs to be found not too far from you.

A new pair of pals! Huntoniatonia oklahomae sharing some matrix with a Kainops. Looks to me like a 400,000,000 year old game of hide-and-seek! Loving the eye facet detail on the Huntonia and stuck in the idea of just how long these two have been together. Immensely fun to think about the amazing diversity at just one location.

Odontocephalus aegeria: this feller has been through some stuff- survived the Pennsylvania acid treatment crisis mostly in tact… I really enjoy seeing the diversity in sand-scoops trilobites have, and Odontocephalus are pretty exciting as far as that goes. You can see where the double pygdial spines would have been without the radical pH disruption

My Dalmanites lumurulus was complaining about being lonely, so after 400,000,000 years I scoped out a pal for company-
