Beach Find Of The Summer for NJ

Hi. I am over the moon with this find. I usually find only find 10-20 teeth on the beach each summer. I have only found 3 teeth all summer on the beach. Mainly because I am spending more time with the kids than searching. But tonight was low tide….

Three steps into looking…..

it’s 1 inch and perfect!!!!!

Wow, great find!  What other teeth have you found?  I assume the teeth are Pleistocene or perhaps somewhat younger.

Thanks!  I was very surprised when I found it!  The teeth I find on the beach in Atlantic City are Holocene.   I usually find sand tiger, lemon, bronze whaler, and sandbar teeth.  I have found a couple of bull shark teeth.  The bull shark below was my favorite beach find from this area until this one.

 

@Carl  Atlantic City Beach is all goes by.  The area I found it was exactly 1 mile north of North Beach in Ventnor.

Nice GW! Found 2 myself over the winter, neither of mine had the root. Biggest was 2" other was same size as yours.. Hell of a find!!!

 Wondering what part of NJ? You can PM if you like just curious about general location and if it was in an area that had beach replenishment in the last hand full of years?

It was on the border of Ventnor and Atlantic city beach.  Both those beaches where replenished 4 years ago.  I have a place on the boardwalk so I was able to see them do it.  What a process.  They would do the process mostly through the night.  Where did you find yours?  Also, can you post pics of yours?

In Ocean County. An area that had heavy beach replenishment over the years. Found it after a nor’easter
