There's a stem on top and you can see a center on the broken end. If so I’d be curious to know about how old it is. If not it’s a pretty cool rock. val horn Posted August 16, 2021 Share Posted August 16, 2021 I tend to think it might be a pine cone having seen alot of ironstone sidedrrite and occasional bits of lignite cones in the arundel formation in maryland as to its age you need to look up the specfic lcationon a geological map. It will be important in its id since conifers are old tree but not before triassic period, I also recommend showing your find to experts at a university or museum cin the area who will be familiar with the local rocks and fossils. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
