Hi.  All these are out of the ordinary finds for me and I need some help with IDing.  I think I know, which means I am wrong and need help.  Thanks as always for any feedback.

1.  100% retile tooth. It stinks that it is all beat up but I will take it!  I am thinking croc but maybe plesiosaur

2.  I believe this is a reptile toe bone?  Anyone know what type?

7.  I had to show this tooth because it was covered in matrix and after I cleaned it up the colors different for big Brook and it’s extremely sharp and just really great preservation. It’s only half an inch. I believe it’s mackerel (appendicular)

I think your first tooth is an Enchodus tooth. They have the irregular cross section.

snarge. I really thought I got my first croc tooth. I thought the hole at the bottom indicates reptile??  Like I said in the beginning… most likely I am wrong. That stinks.

I did find some amazing teeth over 15 hours of hunting that I will share later.

Thank you so much for the response!

1st is enchodus

2nd is some fish / reptile bone, not sure where on the body, or what class of animal

3rd is coprolite

4th (the second coprolite + small black rock) are concretions. however, the ID of 'coprolite 2' might change with better pictures

5th is bone or petrified wood, but I cant see it clearly enough

6th not sure

7th Cretolamna

  • Thank You 1

I will take better pics of the ones in question. Thanks so much for the feedback. I have to be honest I really thought my beat up tooth would be my first croc. Still a cool find. Excited to find that reddish coprolite!  I’m I correct that is from a shark?  Seems thinner than my first one i found this summer.
thanks again for taking the time to look through my finds!
