Young fossil hunter

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 6 year old son who is obsessed with finding stuff on the beach. (In Essex)

The other day he brought something over to me and I’m convinced he found a fossil of some kind.

He now wants to know what it might be, and so do I!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to TFF:)

Please post images from different angles.

It doesn’t look like a fossil to me I’m afraid, although more pictures would help. Have a look at this website, there are some great fossil hunting locations around Essex. :)

Thanks for the info! We will be sure to give these places a look!

I’ve taken a few more pictures of it, if it’s not a fossil, I’m still interested in what it might be.

Hello, and a very warm welcome to TFF to you and your wonderfully curious son!.

Not a fossil, I'm afraid, but wifey is from Essex and I've collected a lot of nice fossils there.

Keep him at it.

Next time. :d_good_luck:
